Lean International Seminar

Lean International Seminar

CAREL Headquarters, in Padova province, from 16 to 18 May this year will be hosting the first Lean International Seminar, involving all personnel who deal with Lean within the CAREL group. “We began committing to Lean philosophy ten years ago”, explained Carlo Vanin, Chief HR&Organization Officer, “gradually at first, yet always aware of the fact that Lean was not a fixed-term project, but rather a true operational management system that would cover all areas of the company and create a new ‘work culture’, with the active involvement of the people who have ‘driven’ continuous improvement activities at the company”.

Over the years the model has also been extended to the company’s production plants, thus ensuring that the sites also Croatia, Brazil, the United States and China adopt the same standards as in Italy. More recently, Lean philosophy has also been proposed to the sales area at some subsidiaries. “This first international seminar will bring together a sizeable group of people from all around the world, with different experiences and backgrounds, yet all with the same desire to grow together”, Vanin added.

As well as creating synergy between colleagues who work at sites located far away from each other, the meeting also aims to promote shared experimentation, with group activities and targeted improvement projects. “Alongside the more strictly technical objectives, the international seminar has the purpose of reinforcing a sense of identity in the CAREL group’s Lean community. We would also like to expand the platform for sharing knowledge, so as to create a uniform group in which the flow of knowledge, doubts and information is part of our modus operandi”, Vanin concluded.
