CAREL a Geofit project partner

CAREL is one of the partners in Geofit, a research project on smart geothermal technologies funded by the European Union through Grant Agreement No. 792210 of the Horizon 2020 program. The consortium is composed of 24 partners from nine European Union countries, all of which are European technology leaders in economically-advantageous geothermal solutions, advanced and innovative EGS (Enhanced Geothermal Systems) components, as well as complementary technologies such as adsorption heat pump devices, drilling wearing monitoring, SHM (site-inspection and worksite building monitoring techniques), and underground Georadar surveys. The combination of knowledge and experience of the different partners involved is the key to achieving the desired success of the Geofit project. 

Geofit has three main goals: the development of innovative EGS systems, specifically developed for geothermal retrofit; implementation and integration of advanced site-inspection methods; and the implementation of a global, effective and energy-efficient retrofitting strategy with an ROI between 5 and 6 years, using geothermal energy based technologies.
