Pasticceria Veneta: a tailor-made CAREL solution for efficiency, sustainability, and product quality

An industrial CO2 refrigeration system using DC inverter technology and an intelligent supervisory system: this is how Pasticceria Veneta, a company specialising in frozen desserts, has upgraded its production facility, focusing on energy efficiency, product quality, and environmental sustainability.
The choice of CAREL solutions, implemented in collaboration with installation company MD Service Refrigerazione, represents a concrete example of a green transition applied to professional refrigeration.
The need to optimise energy consumption, comply with European environmental regulations, and ensure the highest quality in product preservation led Pasticceria Veneta to adopt a “future-proof” solution. Two 500 m³ cold rooms were fitted with E2V-Z electronic expansion valves, EVD Evolution drivers, iJW controllers, and the IR33 universal controller, for dynamic and precise temperature control. Complementing these is the Hecu CO2 system with PSD2 inverter, capable of modulating cooling capacity and reducing consumption, especially under partial load conditions.
At the core of the system is the boss supervisory unit, which monitors up to 100 devices, sends real-time alerts, schedules optimised defrost cycles, and simplifies the user experience with intuitive maps and dedicated profiles. The result is efficient, responsive refrigeration that complies with the HACCP system.
“A concrete step towards a more responsible and innovative future,” say founders Dino Bisca and Loredano Grande. And the figures speak for themselves: a 30% reduction in energy consumption, greater uniformity in storage temperatures, and a significant decrease in GWP thanks to the use of CO2.
